Dr. Mohammad Al-Hashel

Governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait

Dr. Mohammad Yousef Al-Hashel is a member of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) since 2012.

Dr. Al-Hashel has extensive experience in the financial and banking sector and is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Institute of Banking Studies. Prior to his appointment as Governor of the Central Bank, he was the Deputy Governor. He also sits on the board of numerous councils including: the International Islamic Liquidity Management (IILM), Council of the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB), and Higher Petroleum Council.

Dr. Al-Hashel received his Masters and Doctorate degrees in Finance from Old Dominion University, Virginia, USA. He also holds an MBA degree from Emory University, Georgia, USA.
